A couple months ago I did an interview with Ian from OpenSourced.com, a website providing information and resources about how to succeed in the new digital economy. The interview was released recently in line with their site launch. We talk about:
- The benefits of imagining your worst possible future
- Methods for managing high openness and high conscientiousness
- Successes and failures I’ve had making money online
- Deeply examining beliefs and “brainwashing yourself”
- The best book to become self-disciplined
- Courses for learning copywriting and Amazon FBA
- The pros and cons of different content mediums
- My top recommendation for what to do if you want to work in a certain industry, field or area
Keep in mind that some of what we talk about is events from 3-4 years ago now, and the landscape for certain types of businesses or areas may have changed dramatically in that time. What worked for me from ~2014 onwards might not work now. However, most of the material we covered isn’t time sensitive, and you can likely abstract out lessons or principles from that which is. (Also when I say “poor by South East Asian standards” I mean poor for a Westerner in South East Asia – not actual poverty.) In any case, I hope you find this interesting or useful, and be sure to check out some of the other interview’s on Ian’s site.
